We interviewed Tara Reed also known as "The Artist Tara Reed" on What Is Art Licensing And How Do I Get Started With It?.

Enjoy the interview as there is lots of great content. As Tara describes it, "Licensing" is a way of generating income from your art. Instead of selling originals or selling your designs outright, many artists will grant the right (license) to use their art on a specific product, for a set time period in exchange for a percentage of sales. This percentage is called a royalty. By licensing your art, you have the potential to earn income on the same art piece or collection several times.

For more details on art licensing, we invite you to enjoy our interview with Tara Reed in the presentation below. Please click the image below to start that presentation.

This presentation is for our good friend and mentor Alex Mandossian. Every year he teaches his Teleseminar Secrets course and every year he teaches us about smuggling donkey's. Well, this is our donkey story for this year,  called "The Man, The Boy and The Donkey".

And a very special Thank You goes out to our good friend Tara Reed for doing the artwork (The Man, The Boy and The Donkey). You can tell she likes balloons. You can visit Tara at her site Tara Reed Designs. (Just kidding about the balloons Tara)

Enjoy this donkey story. Happy Birthday Alex.

We are currently on Alex Mandossian's TSS (Teleseminar Secrets) course as faculty members.  We have a small group of followers on Twitter who are also taking the course, but are new to Twitter. There are some new TSS students who don't know what Twitter is either.

So we created the Quick Start below to help Alex's TSS members to use Twitter and to be able to see messages (tweets) through the use of hash tag of #TSS.

Even though we created the Quick Start for the TSS members, it works for anybody using Twitter.

We invite you to follow us on Twitter at => http://PatAndLornaOnTwitter.com.

Ezine Article Jackets

This is how Social Networking using Twitter gave us a warm, fuzzy feeling as well as some warm jackets…

To get the full details on how we got these wonderful Ezine Articles jackets please read this post here.

In a nutshell, we were tweeting about how Ezine Articles was going to give their authors with 5000 followers a jacket. We made a comment (tweet) about how Ezine Articles was allowing their authors to automaticlly post their approved articles to twitter.

You can check this out at Twitter.EzineArticles.com. We are in the Top 10 followers with published articles.

EzineArticles.com raised a challenge to its authors to have 5,000 followers on Twitter before the end of 2008. The reward? A very warm Ezine Articles fleece jacket!

Here we are in the front of our house with our brand new Ezine Article jackets from Chris Knight and the Ezine Article team. We are having a chinook today, it's (-0c/32f), but we are having winds of 39km/h (24m/h) and wind gusts of 50km/h (30m/h).

Those white streaks in front of us is the blizzard that was occuring at that time.

So thanks to Chris Knight, the Ezine Article team, and of course you our followers; without you this would not have been possible. But it also shows you the power of social networking. Thanks to all of you.

– Pat & Lorna

P.S. They are very, very warm!!!

EzineArticles.com raised a challenge to its authors to have 5,000 followers on Twitter before the end of 2008. The reward? A very warm Ezine Articles fleece jacket!

Ezine Artilces Fleece Jacket

With only about two weeks left in the year, we were about 590 followers short of that target. And… with the temperatures hanging around the -25 degree Celsius (-10 degree Farenheit) mark, those fleece jackets were looking very inviting!

So, feeling motivated (and cold), we sent out a few messages on Twitter asking others to help us reach the 5,000 follower mark.

Wow! We were blown away with the results! In a few short days we reached our goal. And now, with two days left in the year, we have a grand total of 5,584 followers.

Previous to sending those messages our followers list did not grow anywhere near that quickly. It was, in our opinion, a miracle… or at the very least, a huge learning.

It was solid proof to us that there is power in social networking. Think about it, if it worked this well to increase follower numbers, what else could be accomplished? Anything! There is power in numbers and in people working towards a common goal. All it takes is someone to ask for help or raise a challenge that others believe in.

To answer a much-asked question… can social networking help your business? We believe it can. There is a lot of help and support available through the social networking channels.

But one last word… karma. You can only get out of something what you put in. By being involved in social networking and by offering your help and support, you may be pleasantly surprised what will be available for you when you ask.

Alex Mandossian of AlexMandossian.com posted an entry on his blog Here's Why "Progress" Exceed Perfection which included the Spectacular Presentation that we've created below.

Well, what is really interesting is that Alex also sent an email to one of his lists called the Wednesday Minute, and we are asking for your help…

Here is a copy of the email that he sent out…

WEDNESDAY ~ December 17th, 2008

It's time for the Wednesday Minute — the weekly audio/video magazine for electronic marketers.

The topic of this week's edition is:

"Why 'Progress' Exceeds Perfection"
http://AlexMandossian.com <— See Dec. 17th video post

In today's edition, I'm conducting a little experiment and I hope you participate with candid feedback.

Here's the thing:

I'm tinkering with changing the Wednesday Minute format from just "audio" to "Online Video."

It's a special type of Online Video called "Spectacular Presentations" and I think it adds more value to
learning than traditional "talking head" video presentations.

But I want YOU to be the judge…

Watch this video on my 12/17 blog post and leave a comment to tell me what you think.  OK?

http://AlexMandossian.com <— See Dec. 17th video post

If I get positive feedback on the the new format, I'll continue to utilize it on other Wed. Minutes.

Good Sales,

Alex Mandossian
CEO & Founder

If you like the Spectacular Presentation (a copy can be viewed further down on this post), we are asking that you please make a comment on Alex's blog telling him that you enjoy this format. Here is that blog entry again => Here's Why "Progress" Exceed Perfection

Thanks for your help, we look forward to creating more of these.

Teleseminar Secrets If you’ve read our blog for any amount of time, you know of our appreciation and fascination with Alex Mandossian and his “Secrets Courses”.  Well it’s the time of year where Alex has his biggest course, and that is Teleseminar Secrets which begins in December.

We first took Teleseminar Secrets in 2005 and it has been the best investment of our time and money than any other course we have taken.

How would you like us to give you a couple of insider tips and also deconstruct his sales process/model for you here?

If you are looking to sell any product… you could learn from it.

So let’s triangulate the 3 part process…

Part 1 – Electronic Marketing Analysis

Electronic Marketing Analysis

It starts with a free custom “Electronic Marketing Analysis. ” The first part of the process starts with something very low; something of value for just a name and email address.

With Alex, you can rest assured that your email address isn’t abused. Besides, would you ever buy a product from someone who abuses your email address? Alex knows that you wouldn’t.

Part 2 – $20 Preview call

$20 Preview Call

Why would anybody charge for a preview call? Well if you aren’t willing to pay $20 for a preview call, you mostly like would not take the full Teleseminar Secrets course. Alex has pre-qualified his prospects in order to get only people that are interested on that call. It’s one of the tactics he teaches in his course.

This year’s $20 preview call is December 4th. The product comes with a year-long money back guarantee, but that’s not all. He also offers a free bonus (valued at $97) for the first 200 registrants… his “Insider’s Guide to Teleseminar Profits for Independent Professionals”.

But there’s more at stake here… Alex has to deliver a lot of content for $20 to convince you to pick up his full Teleseminar Secrets training program.

Now here’s a sweet deal… go to ToPreviewCall.com and register for this $20 preview call and if you are on our mailing list we'll send you information on how we'll rebate this call back to you.

Details of this Preview Call offer can be found here

Part 3 – Teleseminar Secrets full course

Teleseminar Secrets Course

The final step is the Teleseminar Secrets full course. The first class session begins on December 8 and the registration “doors close” at 5:00 pm PST on December 6.

It kind of makes one wonder… why would anyone close the doors on a cash-cow like this?

For anyone to spend the kind of money Alex is asking them to spend, people need to be assured they are spending their money on someone who can be trusted. You’d be surprised how many people are taking the class this year because they didn’t believe Alex last year.

It is true … at 5:00 pm PST on December 6, the doors will close and you’ll have to wait until next year. And Alex doesn’t let anybody in… rest assured.

Here is The Hidden “SECRET”

You would think that a course that’s called “Teleseminar Secrets” would be all about teleseminars. But think again… it’s not. It’s all about “smuggling donkeys”. And now you’ll have to take Alex’s Teleseminar Secrets course to find out what we mean.

So learn from this model, study it, use it… give people good free content to show them the value, show them that money spent on this path is money well spent, over-deliver and stay true to your word.

P.S. We’ll be attending again this year, that’s how much value we get from Alex’s course. Hope we hear you on the calls!

P.S.S. And – We are very honored to be on the Teleseminar Secrets faculty so when you register for the course, you will get an hour + training from us teaching you how to use Spectacular Presentations with your teleseminars.

We just checked out Twitter Grader and we got a 97.9%.

So what is Twitter Grader?, Well, right from their grader report they state;

The Twitter Grade measures the relative power of a Twitter user. It is calculated as a percentile score. A grade of 97.9 means that the user scores higher than 97.9 percent of the other user profiles that have been graded.

So try it out for yourself and see how you grade with Twitter.

Big Seminar X

A seminar that is BIG on ideas of how to develop and grow your Internet marketing business into a huge success and is BIG on networking opportunities… is this for real?

Oh yes! We’ve just returned from Armand Morin’s Big Seminar 12 in Atlanta (Oct. 3-5), where we got all that and much, much more.

You should have been there… and if you were, you know exactly what we’re talking about…

Throughout the seminar, the speakers shared many extraordinary ideas on the systems and tools of successful Internet marketing. And each one of the speakers had the essential prerequisite for speaking on such a topic… they’ve done it themselves. Add to that the half-hour breaks designed to create an incredible networking environment, and it adds up to one amazing seminar event.

The range of expertise delivered by the speakers was incredible… Alan Forrest Smith on copywriting, Joe Polish on easy, lucrative and fun businesses, Mark Victor Hansen with his positive attitude, David Hancock on entrepreneurial publishing, Stephen Pierce with his success secrets, Jose Espana on membership sites, Michel and Sylvie Fortin on the “back end”, Eben Pagen with his Personal Success Ritual and hiring tips, Brendon Burchard on non-profit and corporate sponsorships, Kirt Christensen on adwords, and of course the insightful teachings of Armand Morin himself.

Still, the biggest benefit of the seminar was the opportunity to network with and meet some amazing people. We’re sure that great relationships and joint ventures were a big part of the weekend for everyone… they definitely were for us. The quality of this seminar shows with the calibre of the audience in attendance, including Jay Conrad Levinson, Christina Hills, Jeff Herring, Paul Colligan, DJ Dave Bernstein, Connie Ragen Green, Brett Ridgway, Warren Whitlock, Heather Kirk, and many, many more.

A major bonus from this seminar are the meals that are provided… giving everyone even more opportunities to network. Take it from us… it truly is a treat. Remember, it’s all about connecting.

We would definitely recommend attending this seminar next year in Las Vegas… totally worth it!!

And… we would like to say hello to all the wonderful people we met last weekend… we appreciate you all.

It seems that there are a few blog posts and comments going around on "Creative Imitation" ,

What Is All The Fuss?

So here is the original blog posting at Alex Mandossian's blog that was posted by Jeff Herring (aka. The Internet Article Guy)

And it has to do with one of the quotes that Alex teaches his students:

“Never invent, always improve”

Heck, even we made a comment on the original blog posting, because we are good friends with both Alex and Jeff and it made sense to us. We try to Creatively Imitate when ever or where ever possible.

Jeff also posted the same posting on his own blog here. No big deal.

Now a couple of days later Stu McLaren (aka. The Idea Guy) (we are friends with Stu too, he's Canadian, eh) posted a comment on Alex/Jeff's original blog posting and also created his own blog posting here.

A quote from Stu's blog post:

"Personally, I have mixed feelings regarding the way this is presented to small business owners.  On the outside, it sounds like all you have to do is model leaders in your industry and you’ll succeed."

Then Stu got a comment from Diane Eble, who then posted her own blog entry here. A quote from that blog entry:

"There’s quite an interesting discussion going on about “creative imitation”–what it is, and whether it’s good or bad."

So we searched Wikipedia.org for "Creative Imitation," and it couldn't be found. So we searched for Creative and Imitation

For Creativity we get:

"Creativity is a mental process involving the generation of new ideas or concepts , or new associations of the creative mind between existing ideas or concepts. An alternative conception of creativity is that it is simply the act of making something new."

And for Imitation we get:

"Imitation is an advanced behavior whereby an individual observes and replicates another's. The word can be applied in many contexts, ranging from animal training to international politics ."

So what is all the fuss? Didn't we just "Creatively Imitate" everyone?

We would love your comment.

21 Uses of Spectacular Presentations

More on Spectacular Tip #1: 21 Uses of Spectacular Presentations

On July 8, 2008 we were attending class 4 of Alex Mandossian's Speed Money Repurposing course that we we got at the Ray Edwards' Speed Money Seminar that we attended back in May of this year.

Alex had instant messaged us about 20 minutes prior to the start of the call to ask if we could take a part of the Spectacular Presentation that we had done for his Virtual Book Tour Secrets course module 1, called "How to Repurpose Content and Accelerate Profits", to repurpose a few slides into a Hub and Spoke video.

Well, we always love a challenge and Alex has helped us out so much in our business, that of course we said "we'd love to". So in about 50 minutes we extracted the slides and audio that we needed, created a new Spectacular Presentation, uploaded it to a web server and then let Alex know it was available.

To see what we did for Alex, you can view the presentation right here in this blog article, or you can go directly to the domain he created at www.HubAndSpokeVideo.com . We really like slide #3 which discusses media and covers 25 specific repurposing ideas.

Please click the image below to start that presentation.

The next day Alex then took this Spectacular Presentation and created a blog article from it. Here is the link to read Alex Mandossian's blog article on You Are "The Message" .
