Randy Pausch – Really Achieve Your Childhood Dreams

1

Who was Randy Pausch and why does he matter to us? Well…

On September 19th, 2006, Randy was diagnosed with incurable pancreatic cancer.

August 2007 he was told he had 3 to 6 months left of good health.

On September 18th, 2007 he gave his "Last Lecture," which was a talk that was modeled after an ongoing series of lectures where top academics are asked to think deeply about what matters to them, and then give a hypothetical "final talk," i.e., "what wisdom would you try to impart to the world if you knew it was your last chance?"

The lecture was titled "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams", at Carnegie Mellon University

This lecture is truly inspirational and makes you think about what really matters to you.

As Randy Pausch said, "What wisdom would you try to impart to the world if you knew it was your last chance"

His last lecture is a conversation worth watching, and is full of life lessons that are invaluable. And as Randy says in his own words (he head faked) this lecture was only for 3 people… you'll have to watch to find out whom.

Lorna and I highly recommend spending this 1 hour and 16 mins with Randy and his last lecture. We never met Randy in person, only viewed him and his life through YouTube; but he has moved, touch and inspired us to be in the moment with each other and to think of what really matters to us in life.

Randy Pausch passed away on the morning of July 25th, 2008, but he passed away leaving millions of people with his wisdom, but most of all his wife Jai, and their three children: Dylan, 6, Logan, 4, and Chloe 2.

We choose to honour Randy and his life with this Blog article hoping that you will be touched, moved and inspired to Really Achieve Your Childhood Dreams.

We would like to thank you just as before for the gorgeous suggestions you offered Janet when preparing her post-graduate research as properly as, most importantly, pertaining to providing each with the suggestions in a weblog post. Provided that we had been aware of your site a year ago, we’d have been saved the unnecessary measures we were having to take. Thank you quite significantly.
